Logotype Berwarna

"Kompas mau jadi 8 kolom, trus logotype-nya jadi warna biru," kata Meta yang kakaknya kerja di sana.

Soal logotype berwarna tersebut beliau malah mengusulkan supaya Koran Tempo mewarnai logotype juga, menggunakan corporate color Tempo: merah.

Ini tanggapan dari forum visuleditors.com

Koran Tempo:
Imagine Washingthon Post or Die Zeit change their logotype into color? What do you think? Would'n it look cheap? I 'm facing the same case in our paper (Koran Tempo, first compacted newspaper in Indonesia Very Happy), they told me to change logotype into color.

M. Michelson,
Yakima Herald-Republic:
For The Washington Post or Die Zeit it might look cheap, but not all papers are the The Post or Die Zeit. If it's tastefully done, I have no problem with color in the flag. Of course this is coming from someone who works at a paper with red lettering in our flag (which I helped create). I think when it comes to color, the best thing to remember is a little bit goes a long way.

Dennis Bolt,
The Press Democrat:
I think it depends on if your nameplate is German blackletter or a modern typeface. Color on the old fashion blackletter looks odd, but more modern typefaces can probably handle it. My paper has a blue nameplate and each section header is different color. But until 1999, the Press Democrat had a huge 100percent yellow box with its name in a big chunky slab serif. Now it is an elegant serif font in blue witha drop shadow.

Mark Rogers, Kanada:
You might want to point out that black is actually the strongest colour of all because of its high contrast with the white background.

Rattle,
The Blade:
The Blade, of Toledo, Ohio, currently engaged in tearing the Ohio Republican Party to shreds, has had a blue logotype for some time now. But anything to liven up otherwise dull pages is all right with me.
